April 5k handicap results. Can anyone stop Tina in May?

For this month we were back on our summer 5k course, starting outside Cowdray café. The course has now been measured properly with a measuring wheel, and not relying on Strava. A couple of course adjustments were necessary to ensure the length is accurate.

This is also our first proper handicap run for several months, and it was great to have a competitive run again. Thirteen runners took part, three of which were first time runners, with Jane and Val doing their first handicap runs in over a year. Good to have you both back.

Once they were underway, Steve and I started to speculate on who would come in first. Andy soon came into view and crossed the line first, but as this was his qualifying run, his position didn’t count.

The familiar figure of Tina, was not far behind and she stormed round in 23.34; over a minute quicker than last month. This was Tina’s third victory in a row, and she has improved her 5k time by over three minutes since January. A fantastic achievement.

Second place was taken by Mark W, Lucy third and Trudy fourth, all achieving PB’s. Fourth and fifth were Jane and Tabby, both of them improving their times from their last runs.

Well done to all who took part, and a big thanks to Sandra, Andy B, Emilia, Rob and Steve for helping with marshalling and timing.

Can anyone put a stop to Tina’s winning habit in May??
